Welcome to Design-a-Fab® Den for Your Community 2010 Entry

Entry into the competition is really easy, just follow the simple instructions below. You can either submit your child's design by post or online. The deadline for online entries is 31st August. Postal entries need to arrive at our Fabland Post Office by 31st August. Go postie, postie!

Remember, we are looking for entries that demonstrate the greatest creativity and provide the most benefit to your community.

Online Entries:

Step 1: Read the full instructions and print the template. Let your kids personalise their design and take a photo of their creation (Make sure it isn’t more than 1MB).

Step 2: Fill out the online form below and upload your photo.

Step 3: Our team of judges will shortlist entries. If your child's entry is selected you will be invited to post the paper entry (design and application form) for final selection. Make sure you keep hold of your paper entry!

Online entries are to be submitted before the 31st August 2010.

Postal Entries:

When you print out the Den template, the application form will also print automatically. Fill it in and send it with your child's den design so we know how to contact you if you are one of our lucky winners! It must be signed by you, the child's parent or guardian.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Competition is open to residents of the UK, CI and IoM, except employees and their immediate families of R&R Ice Cream Plc, its agents or anyone professionally connected to the Promotion.
  2. Applicants must be aged 16 years and under, and be supervised by an adult
  3. Promotion dates are 3/5/10 (0.00 GMT) - 31/8/10 (23.59 GMT) inclusive. No entries will be accepted after this date.
  4. No purchase is necessary.
  5. Only one entry per person.
  6. To enter the competition, entrants must;
    1. Follow the instructions on www.myfabland.com to download a blank den template
    2. Design a den on the template provided, using colour and textures as required
    3. Submit your entry via postal entry, online or in person at one of the locations of the Creativity Tour 2010. Fab® Creativity Tour locations and key dates can be found on www.myfabland.com

  8. For online entry submission, parents or guardians must take a photo of their child's entry, complete an online entry form and upload their entry photo on www.myfabland.com. Parents or guardians are required to retain their child's entry, as it will be required to be posted to the Promoter if their entry is short listed. The deadline for online entries is 31/08/10 (23.59 GMT). No entries will be accepted after this date.
  9. Following selection, finalists who have submitted their entry via the online entry route will be required to post their application to the promotional address. Posted online applications must be received no later than 27/09/10.
  10. Only entries with signed parental permission will be considered for the purpose of this competition.
  11. Incomplete, illegible, misdirected or late entries will not be accepted. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Responsibility cannot be accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed.
  12. Entries sent through trade, agents or third parties will not be accepted.
  13. Following the promotional closing date, a panel of judges, including an independent member, will pick 10 finalists from all entries of the competition.
  14. The competition will be judged on the merit of the den design and description alone. Winning designs will be selected from all entries based on, in the opinion of our independent panel of judges, levels of talent, imagination and originality shown. Applicant's ages will be taken into consideration within the judging process.
  15. The 10 finalists will be notified in writing (via post or email) by 13/09/10 and will be informed of their progression to the final.
  16. Each of the 10 finalists will win a Fab® branded tent, and a Flip video camcorder.
  17. The 10 finalists' submissions will be placed in an online voted final on www.myfabland.com. Online voting will take place between 04/10/10 - 31/10/10. The entry with the most votes received by 31/10/10 (23.59 GMT) will be deemed the ‘grand prize' winner of the competition.
  18. There is one (1) grand prize of a complete community centre makeover to be won. The makeover will be based on the winning den design submission, and built at the community centre of the winner's choice. Written consent must be provided from the community centre before the winning den can be built. Any necessary planning permission etc. will be the responsibility of the community centre. The community den makeover is subject to interpretation by the Promoter and does not include any major renovations or building work including, but not limited to, rewiring, plumbing or removal of walls etc.
  19. There are nine (9) secondary prizes of £1,000 which will be awarded to all non-winning finalists. Prize money will supplied in cheque format made payable to the prize winner, as a donation to their community centre.
  20. Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and there is no cash or credit alternative available.
  21. In the event of circumstances outside its control, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a similar alternative of equal or greater value should the prize be unavailable for any reason.
  22. The Promoter's decision is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.
  23. No one person may win more than one prize.
  24. The ten 10 finalists will be notified within 28 days for the voting closing date, and will be asked in each case to confirm acceptance of their prize
  25. If the winner cannot be contacted within 30 working days of the draw, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next best entry, in the opinion of the judges (and so on until a winner can be contacted who will take up the prize).
  26. Prizes will be supplied to winners within 28 days of the promotional closing date, 29/11/10. The top prize will be undertaken at a mutually convenient date before 30/04/2011.
  27. Proof of identity may be called for before the prize is awarded.
  28. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the stated prizes, in whole or in part, should the whole prize or an element thereof become unavailable for any reason, with an alternative of equal or greater value.
  29. The Promoter reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the operation of the Promotion, or to be acting in any manner deemed by the Promoter to be in violation of the Terms and Conditions; or to be acting in any manner deemed by the Promoter to be disruptive.
  30. A list of the winning entries will be available by sending a SAE, to Winners List, Fabland Post Office, The Ice Cream Factory, Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire, DL7 9UL after 02/11/10.
  31. Limitations of liability. The Promoter cannot assume any responsibility or liability for:
  32. Any incorrect or inaccurate entry, or for any faulty or failed electronic data transmissions.
  33. Communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilised in any aspect of this Promotion.
  34. Inaccessibility or unavailability of the internet or the website or any combination thereof.
  35. Regretfully, we cannot be held responsible for the failure to fulfill the obligations of any third parties involved in this Promotion, although we will always endeavor to minimize the effect to the participant of any such failure.
  36. Conduct of participation. Participants in the Promotion agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion or website, or to be acting in any manner deemed by the Promoter to be in violation of the Terms and Conditions; or to be acting in any manner deemed by the Promoter to be disruptive.
  37. Any material created as part of the Promotion shall be owned by the Promoter. Entrants agree for the Promoter to edit, publish and use in perpetuity throughout the world all or segments of any such material in any and all media (including print and online) for publicity and news purposes.
  38. By entering the Promotion entrants acknowledge that they may be required to participate in publicity relating to the Promotion without further consent or payment. Such publicity may include, without limitation, the entrants name and/or image, statements made by the entrants concerning the competition and/or prizes, and moving images of the entrants or their guests taken as part of the competition.
  39. By entering this competition, entrants agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions governing this Promotion and by any other requirements set out in related promotional materials.
